Thanks for supporting de Novo Designs! de Novo is a Latin term meaning "over again or anew" and symbolizes the passion we have to lead others to a "new life" in Christ (Romans 6:7-8). It is our desire to be used by our Creator in His sovereign plan to re-create new spiritual "designs" through His son Jesus Christ. More specifically, de Novo Designs’ aim is to present the Word of God to adolescents in a 21st century context that expresses our Heavenly Father’s unconditional love for them, and His yearning to purify them through an intimate relationship with His Son (John 3:16).

Currently, this mission is being accomplished as members of the Counseling Department at a fully accredited year-round Christian therapeutic boarding school in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. Our goal at “Escuela Caribe” is to provide a nurturing environment to train struggling adolescents through a quality educational experience that is challenging and encourages application of biblical principles that impact their spiritual, mental, and emotional character. With the prayers and support of our family and friends in the United States, we strive to set ablaze the youth we minister to by sparking an eternal heart-change that yields an undeniable hunger to forever serve Jesus Christ.

We hope that the information provided through our website not only witnesses to you, but prompts prayerful consideration to actively join us in our mission to introduce “de Novo living” to the lost.

About Us:
Fiette, a native of Ohio, and myself, a native North Carolinian, grew up states apart with very different values that led us down separate paths. With Fiette’s move to North Carolina in 1998 our paths were destined to cross and did so in 1999. Following an extremely turbulent time together “in the world”, we both re-dedicated our lives to Christ on November 4, 1999. On May 21, 2000 the Lord’s fate was sealed with our marriage as “One Flesh” in Christ (Mark 10:7-9).

As the Lord continued to cultivate this new found love, a passion for Him began to grow exponentially that spoke to our desire to serve in full-time ministry. Although this obvious calling was denied for some time, de Novo Designs was eventually introduced as a “God-led web/graphic design agency” in an attempt to serve non-profit agencies in North Carolina on a part-time ministry basis.

Boy, was it EVER God-led!! After only two-years of part-time service to clients in several Southeastern states, the Lord led us quickly to fulfilling our long-term dream of serving adolescents as full-time missionaries in a Latin American country! Following much intense individual growth and several years of planning together, de Novo Designs launched its dream earlier than expected on March 1, 2006 with New Horizons Youth Ministries (NHYM). As de Novo Designs’ transformation into a full-time ministry began, the Holy Spirit made the reasons for our previous “struggles in the faith” abundantly clear. Praise God, we can now BOTH vouch for Him truly being the “light of the world” (John 8:12)! What a testimony!

This and further testimonial knowledge gained with my completion of a graduate degree in Counseling Psychology and Fiette’s second Bachelor’s is now being applied to the treatment of adolescents in a therapeutic Christian boarding school environment. The NHYM program is located on the campus of “Escuela Caribe” in beautiful Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic on the island of Hispaniola (www.hispaniola.com) where we hope to always model “de Novo living” to the adolescents we treat.
